Mulchers
Our agricultural mulchers are the best choice for managing plant residue efficiently and sustainably: pruning residue, fruit trees, intensive olive plantations, pasture regeneration and more.
Serrat's solution for forest maintenance, keeping tracks and roads clear, or cleaning up after timber harvesting. Versatile and powerful, they will boost your results and cut your maintenance costs.
Machines specialised in soil preparation down to a depth of 50 cm. Building tracks and roads, construction debris or land reclamation. Powerful and tough, they will exceed your expectations.
A complete range of mulchers for excavators of up to 50 t. Turn your excavator into the best tool for both agricultural and forestry tasks.
Articulated mulchers for work on hard-to-reach ground, such as roadside verges, ditches, embankments, canals, irrigation channels, sloping areas or uneven surfaces where a fixed rear mulcher couldn't reach.
Mulchers designed to collect, not just mulch. Ideal for energy recovery from pruning residue (olive groves, fruit orchards, vineyards), harvesting aromatic and medicinal plants, and making use of plant residue in general. They produce the particle size needed for direct use as biomass.
At Serrat we innovate to create technology applied to the field:

Made from cold-rolled polygonal steel tube, to perform in the toughest working conditions: greater surface hardness, longitudinal rigidity and wear resistance. Its polygonal structure absorbs hammer impacts against the corners of the rotor and extends its service life. Forged steel brackets ensure exact positioning of the cutting elements and perfect balancing, even after replacing parts, with no vibration. And its bolted, replaceable shafts make maintenance easier and reduce downtime.

The innovative hammer-mounting system with GIROSTOP pins is the only one of its kind known on this type of machine. Thanks to its square anchoring head, the pin never turns in the hammer bracket welded onto the mulcher rotor. Because it doesn't turn, it never wears the bracket, so the brackets stay intact and their service life is guaranteed; and if the bracket shows no wear on its underside, this also guarantees reliable balancing of the hammer rotor. Because the pin is fixed, the hammer is forced to rotate on the pin. The pin head is flat and prevents twine or grass from tangling or catching. In addition, this locking system makes maintenance and hammer changes much easier and safer for the operator, since the pin nut can be removed with a single spanner.

Forestry rotor designed and built with Serrat polygonal-section technology. Floating hammer type that allows the hammer to rotate 360 degrees on its axis. The structural rigidity provided by this folded design prevents the rotor from deforming in the event of impacts, while achieving both rigidity and flexibility. The welds are placed in areas protected from ground contact to prevent premature wear. Internal plates are fitted to stiffen the shaft.

Its polygonal shape makes it sturdier when the hammer recoils from impacts. Forged steel brackets, pinned in place with high-precision positioning for manufacture and assembly, ensuring perfect positioning of the cutting elements. Octagonal drive discs for better power transmission. Internal discs to give the rotor its structure.

Laser treatment on the hammer tip. On the wear zone, it extends service life, paying off both in hourly cost and in less downtime for maintenance.

The main feature of the SPLINTER blade rotor is that it is made up of two spirals that distribute the load along the entire rotor, giving it very high rigidity; in addition, the blades are reversible, with two usable cutting edges. This rotor is intended for mulching pruning wood and brush clearing.

It is an innovative system of precision cutting for self-feeding mulchers. Its main advantage is that, thanks to its castellated blades and anvils, it achieves a fineness of mulching never before seen on this type of machine. It also reduces power requirements by 40%, something to bear in mind to save on fuel and investment. It has other advantages too: the mulched wood is incorporated into the soil in a way that is much faster and more effective, and within a short time it disappears from the ground of the plantation. In nut orchards, where harvesting is normally done with mechanical sweepers or pneumatic blowers, this type of machine is essential; otherwise the nuts are collected contaminated with the previous year's pruning wood, causing the grower losses and price deductions.

An exclusive Serrat Trituradoras design. It is built on two key factors. On the one hand, virtually total efficiency in picking up material, thanks to its helical mounting system. On the other, it achieves continuous, blockage-free feeding, which is absolutely essential on this type of machine when working windrows of large, thick pruning branches.

It consists of a through input shaft and two crown wheels, which mesh with two pinion shafts, giving the same gearbox twice the power transmission capacity of conventional gearboxes. It has an oil cooling pump and an optional rear output for combined implements.

Automatic alignment system for the driveshaft between the tractor and the machine, relative to the lift position of the hydraulics. It articulates the gearbox so that the angles of the driveline joints are smaller during work.

Hydraulic start-up system for machines with heavy rotors, PTO without soft start, and front PTO.

Special care in the study and design of the machine chassis at the inlet and outlet so that nothing is thrown towards the operator. Protecting both the operator and the tractor is a priority, so that neither is damaged by flying stones or pieces of wood.

Thanks to its distinctive fixing with ovals and recessed curves between the tooth and the holder, it provides absolutely reliable retention even in demanding soil mulching work. The bolts bear no load during work and only serve to hold the tooth against the holder. The arrangement of the teeth on the rotor keeps the bolt heads protected from erosion wear. The bolts have two spanner grips for when they are worn down by the ground.
