Information about cookies

In accordance with Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI), in conjunction with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 of 5 December on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), all websites that use non-essential cookies must obtain the user's express consent before the user browses them.

What are cookies?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies or pixels are tools used by web servers to store and retrieve information about their visitors, and to ensure the site works correctly.

These devices allow the web server to remember certain data concerning the user, such as their preferences for viewing the pages of that server, name and password, products they are most interested in, etc.

Cookies covered by the regulations and exempted cookies

Under the EU directive, the cookies that require the user's informed consent are analytics cookies and advertising and affiliate cookies; technical cookies and those necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services expressly requested by the user are exempt.

Types of cookies

By purpose

• Technical and functional cookies: these allow the user to browse a website, platform or application and to use the different options or services available on it.
• Analytics cookies: these allow the party responsible for them to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users of the websites to which they are linked. The information collected through this type of cookie is used to measure the activity of the websites, application or platform and to build browsing profiles of the users of those sites, applications and platforms, in order to make improvements based on the analysis of how users use the service.
• Advertising cookies: these allow the most efficient possible management of the advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided, based on criteria such as the edited content or the frequency with which ads are displayed.
• Behavioural advertising cookies: these collect information about the user's personal preferences and choices (retargeting) to allow the most efficient possible management of the advertising spaces that the publisher may have included on a website, application or platform from which the requested service is provided.
• Social cookies: these are set by social media platforms on the services to allow you to share content with your friends and networks. Social media platforms are able to track your online activity outside the Services. This may affect the content and messages you see on other services you visit.
• Affiliate cookies: these make it possible to track visits coming from other websites with which the website has an affiliate agreement (affiliate companies).
• Security cookies: these store encrypted information to prevent the data stored in them from being vulnerable to malicious third-party attacks.

By ownership

• First-party cookies: these are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a device or domain managed by the publisher itself and from which the service requested by the user is provided.
• Third-party cookies: these are sent to the user's terminal equipment from a device or domain that is not managed by the publisher but by another entity that processes the data obtained through the cookies.

By retention period

• Session cookies: a type of cookie designed to collect and store data while the user is accessing a website.
• Persistent cookies: a type of cookie in which the data remain stored on the terminal and can be accessed and processed for a period defined by the party responsible for the cookie, which may range from a few minutes to several years.
